CySec Professionals Ltd is pleased to announce that the NIST Cybersecurity Professional® (NCSP®) trademark portfolio has now been successfully registered across all 27 EU Member States. This milestone follows earlier protection secured in the United Kingdom and represents a significant step in reinforcing the integrity, clarity, and long‑term stability of the NCSP® credential ecosystem.
With both UK and EU rights now formalised, the NCSP® framework stands on its strongest legal foundation to date, supporting its continued growth as a globally recognised, standards‑aligned training and credentialling system for organisations adopting the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF 2.0) and associated NIST Special Publications.
NIST Cybersecurity Professional® (NCSP®) - A Strengthened Global Certification Standard For the Future
Since its introduction in 2020, the NCSP® ecosystem has helped organisations and professionals around the world build capability in implementing and operationalising the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
As NIST CSF 2.0 becomes the dominant global governance model for cybersecurity risk management, the need for competence‑based, scalable workforce development pathways has never been greater.
The newly registered EU trademarks provide:
Clear Credential Integrity Across Europe
The NCSP® identity is now formally protected across the UK and entire EU single market, ensuring consistency and trust for learners, employers, and regulators.
A Stable Platform for Expansion
With legal certainty in place, CySec can continue to expand the NCSP® ecosystem, supporting organisations preparing for NIS2, DORA, and other regulatory frameworks that emphasise workforce competence.
Confidence for Partners and Global Stakeholders
Training providers, academic institutions, and enterprise customers benefit from a credential ecosystem with a secure, long‑term IP foundation.
These expanded trademark protections form the foundation of a globally scalable training and certification framework aligned to:
NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF 2.0)
200+ NIST Special Publications
Supporting the Global Shift to NIST CSF 2.0
The release of NIST CSF 2.0 has accelerated global adoption of the framework across government, critical infrastructure, and the private sector. At the same time, regulatory initiatives such as NIS2 and DORA are placing explicit emphasis on workforce capability, operational resilience, and board‑level accountability.
The NCSP® ecosystem, comprising 48 courses mapped to NIST CSF 2.0 and core Special Publications (extendable to more than 200 Special Publications), provides a structured, scalable pathway for:
organisational adoption
practitioner development
specialist skills growth
executive and board‑level competence
The EU registrations reinforce CySec’s commitment to supporting this global shift with a credential framework that is both legally protected and aligned to internationally recognised standards.
A Platform for the Next Phase of Strategic Growth
CySec Professionals Ltd announced the expansion of its course portfolio during January 2026 and remains committed to supporting enterprises, governments, and training partners worldwide with a comprehensive, certification ecosystem designed for NIST-aligned cybersecurity workforce development in the next decade and beyond.
With the UK and EU trademark foundations now complete, CySec is entering a new phase of development for the NCSP® ecosystem. This includes expanding the course architecture, strengthening global partnerships, and exploring new opportunities to scale the framework internationally as demand for NIST‑aligned workforce development continues to rise.
The completion of the EU registrations provides the clarity and stability required for this next stage, ensuring that the NCSP® identity remains protected, trusted, and positioned for long‑term global relevance.
As the ecosystem evolves, CySec will continue to engage with organisations, partners, and stakeholders who share the vision of building a more capable and resilient global cybersecurity workforce.
Further strategic updates will follow in due course.
Ends.
