(NCSP®) 800‑152 Foundation Certificate

Course Description

Cryptographic key management systems (CKMS) require consistent profiles, controls, and operational practices to ensure secure implementation. NIST SP 800‑152 provides authoritative guidance for CKMS profiles used across federal systems.

The NCSP® 800‑152 Foundation Certificate is a 2‑day, instructor‑led course introducing participants to CKMS profile principles and practices as defined in NIST SP 800‑152. This course explains profile requirements, lifecycle controls, trust anchors, and alignment with NIST CSF 2.0.

Participants learn how to apply foundational CKMS profile concepts across systems and applications, preparing them for more advanced NCSP® cryptography and architecture training.

What You Will Learn

Participants gain knowledge of NIST SP 800-152 - A Profile for U.S. Federal Cryptographic Key Management Systems (CKMS). You will learn:

  • How NIST SP 800‑152 aligns with NIST CSF 2.0 and supports CKMS security programs.

  • The core concepts of CKMS profiles and lifecycle requirements.

  • How to establish trust anchors and cryptographic governance.

  • How to implement CKMS profile controls across systems.

  • How to validate CKMS operations and compliance.

  • How to integrate CKMS profiles into organisational security programs.

Course Agenda
